Genie CCTV's latest Genieus hybrid management console 4.0 is described as a scalable digital CCTV/IP system with Internet and Web integration, offering security, surveillance and monitoring applications. The Genieus console uses a range of camera devices, including USB webcams, capture cards (for connection to conventional analogue CCTV cameras) and network/IP video servers and cameras. A modular design means users aren't limited to one type of device for the whole system - devices can be mixed, as required, the firm says. Motion detection is performed without the need for PIR triggers and external motion |

Tekno System unveils CHEP explosion-proof camera housings 30-year old Italian CCTV specialist Tekno System SpA has launched additions to its range of CHEP explosion-proof camera housings, which now include a version available in AISI 316L stainless steel for mine applications. Having been certified ATEX and IECEx, the I M2 Ex d I housing is suitable for analogue, digital or thermal cameras in mines where there can be the presence of potentially explosive gases - such as methane for instance - due to the presence of Group IIB-IIC gasses, which may also be mixed with fumes, smoke or powder. A special version is also available with a housing for thermal cameras, equipped with a Germanium window with a filter and a protective grid made of stainless steel. This grid is required to protect the fragile germanium filter material. The quoted operational temperature range of the housing is from -20 to +50°C. The materials and components utilised, allied to the anodic oxidation surface treatment, are said to provide protection against corrosion, polluting elements and salty fog. Tekno System adds that CHEP's weatherproof protection is IP66 and IP67-rated. |

REDWALL REDSCAN - innovative laser scan detector
The REDWALL REDSCAN RLS-3060 is an innovative laser scan detector. It can detect a moving object's size, speed, and distance from the detector and process that information with a unique algorithm, which results in high-reliability detection of people with minimal false alarms. The RLS-3060 utilizes a time-of-flight laser scanning technology that can be mounted vertically or horizontally according to the application and site conditions. Special system algorithms are able to differentiate between human targets and smaller unwanted targets such as small animals and birds whilst ensuring no missed alarms. Rugged and durable construction and highly reliable in operation, the sensor has four, individually addressable and adjustable zones, making the sensor ideal for integrating with Preset Dome cameras typically used in Remote CCTV Verification systems and high-end perimeter security systems When vertical detection area is selected, the RLS-3060 creates a 60m detection area that functions like an invisible wall. With four outputs for remote video applications and four fully programmable detection areas linked with these outputs, the RLS-3060 is the ideal detector for controlling PTZ cameras.
