AMG Systems showcases at Intersec in Dubai
The 9000 series has specifically been designed to meet the high reliability requirements for rugged outdoor and harsh industrial environments with extended temperature requirements.
December 14 2009: Transmission technology manufacturer for Security & Surveillance Solutions, AMG Systems Ltd, announces that their new innovative 9000 series of ruggedized Ethernet switches will be showcased with live demonstrations for the first time at Intersec in Dubai.
According to Founder and MD Dr. Alan Hayes, “The 9000 series comprises a full range of hardened switches and media converters. As always with AMG products, the 9000 series is an easy to install plug-and-play range of products. The switches support ring topologies and offer a really cost effective networking solution without comprising on advanced functionality such as fast ring recovery - less than 20 ms - and Power over Ethernet. The transmission capability stretches to 40 km over singlemode fibre and the products are available for extended temperature range requirements from -40° to +75° Celcius, which makes them eminently suited for the harsh outdoor environment conditions in the Middle East region.”

Are thermal cameras damaged by solar radiation? A White Paper from FLIR commercial vision systems B.V.
Thermal imaging cameras can create high-contrast images even in the darkest of nights. This makes them excellent tools for a wide variety of applications such as security and surveillance, maritime, automotive and many others.
The purchase of a thermal imaging camera is a long term investment. Therefore it is important that you choose a reliable solution that will serve you for several years. Since most thermal imaging cameras are used in an outdoor environment, the first thing they need to resist are elements like water, wind and the sun. While it might be expected that rain and wind can damage a poorly designed or poorly assembled camera, the sun is also capable of damaging the sensitive thermal detector in certain thermal imaging cameras not designed to the standards that FLIR Systems maintains.
